Synopsis

18 CARAT MAMA tells the tale of three ladies, bosom buddies, highly sociable and inseparable. They think they know and understand one other. They live life to the max without a care in the world, sometimes to the detriment of their health, families and those around them.

Then tragedy strikes! Can they stick together? Or did the tragedy tear them apart?

OLUWATOYIN MOORE (AKA TY) 

Started her walk in the entertainment industry some 15 yrs ago ...starting off as a gospel artist and then moving onto television production and eventually into feature film . Toyin wears many caps ...PRESENTER , PRODUCER, MARKETER AND RECENTLY ACTRESS. she is undoubtedly and artist born for the screen . Toyin has successfully run her own production outfit for years known for her true life re enacting programme CHAMPIONS A celebration of grass to grace stories told with drama and mixed with a life audience . She went on to start making full feature films and realizing that ,moneys needed to be recouped she ventured into marketing and distribution , pioneering one of the first non conventional channels of film distribution in Nigeria through the company she worked with as head of studios DOVE MEDIA ...

THEODORA IBEKWE-OYEBADE

Born and raised in Edo State, Theodora Ibekwe-Oyebade originally hails from Owerri in Imo State,

Nigeria. Considered a child prodigy by her primary tutors, Theodora's parents wanted her to pursue education as far as she could take it. This led to a certificate in Education at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State and later on she studied Accounting at the University of Lagos.
Even though she excelled in academics, Theodora also greatly admired entertainers and all things entertainment. After her University education, she decided to move to the UK in order to seek out other opportunities.

The multi-award winner and who regularly graces the cover of UK-African magazines, she founded the Miss Elegant international a beauty pageant in 2009. This really propelled her into the limelight and a few years later, she took the pageant one step further with the Miss Elegant international TV show. The TV show aired on the only African TV station at the time; BEN TV. Through this medium, she became a well-known promoter in the African-UK entertainment industry. An avid entrepreneur at heart, she then became a Director with Starlywood which is a competition-based talent show, which is aimed at discovering young Black talent in the UK. With offers pouring in from African celebrities like Clarion Chukwurah, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, John Utaka,  Ken Smart, Pauline Long, Dayo Olomu etc for her to promote and consult on their entertainment projects, Theodora then created Theodora PR, a media and consultancy PR firm for Black talent in the diaspora (www.theodoraibekwepr.com)

A chance encounter as a stand-in MC at an event introduced her to George Kelly Toghanro. Incidentally, George was casting for a new movie with Nollywood star Jim Iyke, and was so impressed by her performance that he offered her the lead role. This led to her big break in movies. She then went on to star in other movies and last February 2013, took on her first role as a producer for the drama Shameful Deceit.
She also recently produced her first stage drama Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis" adapted by Nick Pelas.
Theodora Ibekwe -Oyebade recently tied the knot and the budding entrepreneur continues to create opportunities for herself in the UK-African entertainment industry.

Helen Adenike Osabutey nee Akeju hails from Ondo State of Nigeria. She started acting as a child with and encouraged by her elder sister Toyin, in the village square of her home town Ajowa, during festive periods.

Helen is a writer, producer, screenplay writer, script developer and actress. She began her Nollywood career with the big hit Yoruba movie ‘Ito’ which she wrote and produced.

experience in the media terrain..A graduate in Mathematics and Statistics from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State. A trained Cinematographer and Film Maker at the Oliver Grant Film Institute, affiliated to the New York Institute of Technology in Ibadan. He started acting on stage with the University of Ibadan play group in the 80s. ESTHER TITI JACOBS-ASEROMA

Esther Titi Jacobs-Aseroma, popularly known as LadyTJ is a social work graduate and a Locality Manager in one of the leading Boroughs in the UK. She is also a graduate of Business Administration and Management Studies –Yaba College of Technology –Nigeria.

In the UK, she furthered her education at London Metropolitan University where she did her degree in Practice Teaching. She is presently a Part/Full time student of London Film School –Regent’s College doing her MA in Stage, TV and Screenplay.

Over the span of about 15 years, she had become a well known Scriptwriter, Producer, Songwriter, TV/ Radio Presenter, Editor, Compeer, Actress and a Film/Stage Director. A household name in the Nigerian community both here in the UK and Africa.  (NOLLYWOOD FILMS-considered to be the 3^rd largest Film Industry in the world)

To her credits, she has written, acted and produced many home movies both in the UK and in Nigeria. She has also directed a few soaps which she starred in. She anchored and presented may programmes both on TV and Radio in the UK Stations and have been editors for some popular Nigerian Magazines. 

In 2009, she received the Best Nollywood Producer-UK –Afro-Hollywood

Due to her vast experience and resourcefulness, she had been identified with many associations of repute. Presently the Financial Director of the Association of Nigerian Movie Producers (A.M.P) UK chapter, Co-ordinator of The association of Multi-national performing artistes (A.M.P.A) UK, a Director –Productions and Team Leader, Tifrehil and Frett Media communications Ltd, Group Editor, Achievers Magazines and many more.

She has collaborated with a lot of Nollywood stars, Producers and Directors over the years.

 As a Safeguarding Adults Lead in 2010, with one of the topmost leading boroughs of Social services in the U.K, she wrote screenplays performed by people with Learning Difficulties to create awareness on abuse within the society.

She enjoys Music, Movies and Scrabble. She is happily married to another Ace Nollywood Actor, Fredrick Aseroma. They are blessed between movies.

TOLULOPE YESUFU

Tolu is a Writer & a Producer. Tolu is a God fearing ,Optimistic, Cheerful and down to earth lady. A graduate of

Marketing, she has always loved and appreciated art in all it's form.

Tolu has worked as a Deputy Marketing Manager in a reputable firm in Nigeria but has decided to do what she loves doing best. She got lots of encouragement from a dear friend of hers who is now late

(Paulo Eberenonwu) and decided to give it a go.

Tolu is a Writter, Producer and Actress and she had her first role in a yoruba movie titled (OWO OJUN EGUN) In 2008 shot in London. She is also an Event Organiser/planner and loves putting a smile on peoples face.

Tolu has just written and produced her first movie SHATTERED HEARTS shot and premiered and screened in London, it is the movie everyone is talking about and yet to be released in to DVD.

Tolu says that she believes this is just the start because she enjoys writing and acting, and after shooting Shattered Hearts, realises this is exactly what she wants to do and is set to reach for  the stars and continue to produce Blockbusters and join hands with other talented people in the industry to take NOLLYWOOD to great heights.


FRED ASEROMA

Fred Aseroma is an acclaimed Nollywood Star Actor. Born in the late 60’s in Lagos Nigeria, Fred is a multitalented actor and a household name in his native country Nigeria and has also started to make waves in diaspora. He hails from Delta state, in the oil-rich Niger-Delta region where his parents, Chief & Mrs Francis Aseroma now reside.

Fred is a graduate of Applied Chemistry from the University of Lagos but never practised as a Chemist because of his strong inclinations for creative work. 

Soon after graduating from the University, the ingenious actor delved into Film acting where he bagged his first movie award after his second major appearance in the movie “To live Again” adjudged “Thema Awards Best up-coming Actor”. His artistic prowess propelled him further into becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Film industry in Nigeria called “Nollywood”.

Till date, Fred has over 100 movies and a handful of soap operas, shown all over Africa and the Diaspora to his credit, with other notable awards to demonstrate his talents.

As a Broadcaster and TV Presenter, Fred also took time out to show the stuff he is made of. He has worked in notable T.V stations and anchored many programmes for NTA such as “New Dawn on 10 and “Petroleum Perspective”, (an oil and gas programme). Fred has written and produced a few documentaries for the oil and gas sector in Nigeria.

A seemingly reserved and modest actor, he is also a model of repute and voice over artiste, Frederick has featured in numerous TV/Radio commercials for various companies and top brands within Nigeria and abroad. His creative romance with Nigerian’s top Telecommunications Giant – Globacom, speak volumes, due to the landslide success recorded financially in terms of marketing and otherwise by the company. He championed several nation-wide Pigin/ English grassroot product campaigns for this company and other notable companies on the Radio, TV, Road- shows and Events.

Fred is currently the Director of Communications in a newly formed company, Tifrehil communications Ltd, based in the U.K, an upwardly mobile production company who are into many projects which would unfold very soon. Fred now shuttles between Nigeria and Europe. He is married with children.


AYO OYEBADE

Ayo Oyebade is an Accountant, Actor, husband and father. With over 25 years’ experience in Accountancy, Ayo’s clients include numerous Show Business Personalities and he has worked on various films as Production Accountant.

Ayo, in addition to being Associate Producer on a few movies including the highly successful Shameful Deceit (produced by his wife, Theodora Ibekwe-Oyebade), has also appeared in a number of movies -  Shameful Deceit; Heartless Carer; Battered; Purity of Heart; Housewives & Girlfriends (TV Pilot) and 18 Carat Mama.

He is serving his second term as President of the Hendon Rotary Club.

HILDA TOLA NEVOH - WILLIAMS

Hilda is a successful, multitalented, multilingual (including Russian Language), well travelled, organised, highly self-motivated, strong leadership skills with proven ability in team development & project management. A columnist, Actress, Stage scriptwriter, Films Production Manager and well established knowledgeable Consultant in Health & Social Care.

Her excellent interpersonal skills with recognised experiences in both fields of Health & Social Care and the world of Film Making / productions have predisposed her the privilege of working with top Nollywood film directors & producers such as Esther Titi Jacobs-Aseroma aka Lady T.J (director / producer extraordinary), Fidelis Duker, Paul Obiazele, Chuks Mordi, Saidi Balogun, Shina Sanyaolu, Chris Ashaiku, Mr Folabi Makinde aka baba Junior.

Also worked along side veterans such as Lanre Balogun, Jibola Dabo, Shola Shobowale, Ayo Mogagi, Tunji Shotimiri, Yemi Awomodu and many more.
