Kate Henshaw...as King Omajuwa in The King must Dance Naked
Nollywood Actress, Kate Henshaw, is an exceptional actor - comfortable on screen and on stage. She recently took on the formidable role of King Omajuwa in Fred Agbeyegbe's THE KING MUST DANCE NAKED, for the Nollywood Legend, Fred Amata's 50th Birthday. Check out the picture above, Kate in full costume for the play.
Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw projects an on-screen braininess that is admirable. She is a talented actress, with an incredible resume to her credit. The Nigerian film industry has been critiqued for many of its below-par actors, but Henshaw is an inspiration to young thespians who wish to do it properly.
You can attempt an honest count of good actors in Nollywood, and Kate Henshaw would certainly make that list; it is a recognition she’s earned over the past twenty years. In 2008, she won the award for Best Actress in A Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), for the movie Stronger Than Pain, setting off a discussion about how far she’s travelled and her contribution to the development of Nollywood. An endorsement it was, many more agreed that she was without doubt, Africa’s finest at the time. Some other recognition has come through – for her – since.
Just how good is she? The proof is in the numbers, and in those productions that have been appreciated by a solid Henshaw fan base, and which has contributed in making her a delight to watch. And then there is this all-important but usually downplayed feature that makes her fit for the big screens – her looks. Henshaw who had her break in 1993 with a lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets, turns 42 this year but boasts a stunning figure that is refreshingly young at heart and in physical traits.
She is also a judge on the Nigeria’s Got Talent, which is taking after the popular Got Talent franchise owned by Simon Cowell’s production company Syco. These endorsements speak of her in broader terms, a sellable individual whose popularity goes beyond the confines of where her true passion lies – acting.
That aspect, however minute it is, has somewhat helped kept her appeal across board, very much in check. In Nollywood, and most particularly in the film world, how you look and just how beautiful you are in the eyes of viewers, decides what next script you are going to get. Which is why Nollywood just can’t have enough of Henshaw.
One unique quality most followers of Nollywood credit Kate with, is her ability to draw inspiration from scripts, adapt them and completely offer a make-over that moves viewers to fall in love with a title – even when it seems – on face value that she was dealing with a bad script. You can say she is her own actor/director – that wouldn’t be entirely out of place; she’s proven that on a number of productions she’s worked on.
The appeal she enjoys isn’t only limited to filmmaking, as she has over the years become a brand most corporate entities would want to associate themselves with. Henshaw, who abandoned the idea of a career in Medicine, worked with GLO, the Nigerian-owned African telecommunication’s giant as ambassador, and has for years been the face of the popular Nigerian food-seasoning product ONGA. She is currently the Brand Ambassador of Samsung.
Recently, Afronolly had an exclusive interview with one of the Female Filmmakers in Nigeria, Mildred Okwo. She is one of the Change Agents of the Movie Industry. She is a Lawyer as well as an Artist Manager. She manages the likes of Kate Henshaw, Rita Dominic & Mike Ezuronye. She is the Producer of the 2 outstanding and Award Winning Movies, 30 DAYS and THE MEETING. Click to watch:

The beautiful and stunning Kate Henshaw
is the cover star for the newest issue of Wow Magazine, and in bold red
lips and a short stylish bodycon dress, the actress takes a pose that is
very much unlike the way we see her on the Nollywood screen.
In a series of photographs
shoot by Obi Somto and styled by Adebayo Oke-Lawal, Kate Henshaw is
depicted as a sultry star who hasn’t aged in the decades that she has
been on screen. On the inside pages, she again dazzles in a floor length
metallic cut out dress by Ms Makor, and again she looks absolutely
gorgeous.
Also
included in the new issue of the magazine are fashion pages with new
talent, Chidinma Obairi, an exclusive of Nigerian designer Maki Oh, and
colourful eye-catching spreads.

“He was my first love and he has my heart completely” – Annie Idibia
The enthralling love story of 2Face & Annie Idibia is certainly not a new one. Nonetheless, it’s one that, cliche as it sounds, surmounts all doubt that love conquers all.
But, how did it all start? When did this
roller coaster ride of friendships, Ex-relationships, break-ups and
make-ups; children and ‘baby mamas’ turn to a Nigerian love story? How did this celebrity love story begin ?
How They Met
Well, it began from a tender stage; one that many, till this day, would toss aside and regard as ‘puppy love’. Annie and 2Face (or Inno’ as she endearingly calls him) first met at Even Ezra Music Studio when she was just fifteen and in her words, “I think there was some electricity that second”.
They Started Dating
They were friends first but had started dating officially by the time they shot the “African Queen” video in 2004. That was when 2Face announced that they were together during an interview.

The Humble Beginnings
The Humble beginning
“I remember my 16th birthday at
Alpha Beach, with me and my friends. When we were going home, we all
walked to the bus stop with him and his cousin. Plantashun Boiz had just
recorded “Knock Me Off” at the time so he wasn’t a star yet.
So we got into the bus, he sat in
front with his cousin so when we wanted to pay the conductor, he said,
“no, he done pay already” I was feeling like a babe. “Hey! My boyfriend
paid everybody’s bus fare.” And that time, bus was like N2.50k or N3 per
person for about 14 people. But he told me recently that he didn’t eat
that night because he paid for everyone.” – Annie Idibia in the February 2013 issue of TW Magazine
The fame snuck up on them but they
struggled to keep the relationship together. Annie’s entertainment
career became a lot more difficult as a result of being known as ’2Face’s girl’.
The Break-ups & Makeups
She was hurt when word got out that, in quick succession, 2Face had gotten two different women pregnant – Pero Adeniyi and Sumbo Ajala. At that point, the couple broke up.
When Pero and Sumbo yet again got
pregnant for 2Face once again, that was when 2Face and Annie had their
longest break-up which lasted almost a year and a half. Annie gave birth to 2Face’s fifth child Isabel and then in 2012, Pero gave birth to his sixth child in the US.

The Proposal
The Proposal
In 2012, 2Face proposed to Annie on Valentine’s Day at Jay Jay Okocha’s
Club 10 in Victoria Island, Lagos. And, they weren’t even dating then,
although were still on talking terms after he had called her out of the
blue a few weeks before, visited her at home and asked for her
forgiveness and friendship.
2face on his knees asking the BIG question
According to eye-witness reports, 2Face took Annie to a quiet section of the club, he knelt down and told her “I know we have had our ups and downs but it will be my heart’s desire for you marry me” and then presented the dazzling ring and Annie began screaming “YES, YES, YES”.
The On-Stage Moment
On the Stage
At his concert, 2Face brought Annie onstage and the crowd went wild! He serenaded her while she smiled all through.
The Court Wedding
Shortly after 2Face‘s concert when he brought out then-fiancee, Annie during his performance of “African Queen”, the two secretly legalized their union in a Lagos registry on Tuesday, May 1 2012.
Just the 2 of Us
Once they were official, 2Face and Annie went for almost all their events together, always looking colour-coordinated and happy together each time.
