By Ope Banwo

ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR GHETTO DREAMZ AS THE FIRST MUSICAL BIOPIC IN NIGERIA WINS AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE AT THE LOS ANGELES MOVIE AWARDS, USA 2011
The management of Stingomania Entertainment, and the Producer of GHETTO DREAMZ, Barrister Ope Banwo are most pleased to announce that they have been notified by the organizers of the LOS ANGELES MOVIE AWARDS, USA 2011 that the SCRIPT for Ghetto Dreamz Movie has been awarded the Award of Excellence at this year’s Los Angeles Movie Awards, USA. This award for Script Excellence, along with the complete list of 2011 winners in all categories, has also been posted on the website of the Los Angeles Movie Awards in the USA.

This Award is a landmark achievement for Nigeria, and Nollywood as an industry, because we believe it represents the first time that a Nollywood movie script would win such a prestigious award at the prestigious USA based Los Angeles Movie Awards.

The GHETTO DREAMZ script written by Stingomania’s CEO and Producer of the movie, Barrister Ope Banwo, formed the basis for the shooting of the GHETTO DREAMZ [THE DAGRIN STORY]. Prior to production, the revised screenplay from the script was done by the Director of the movie, Mr. Daniel Ademinokan. To say that we at Stingomania Entertainment are most proud of this laudable achievement is to understate the obvious.

The entire staff of Stingomania Entertainment continues to thank and appreciate everybody involved in making the GHETTO DREAMZ movie an international phenomenon. We especially appreciate the Director, Daniel Ademinokan, who did a major revision of the script for the screenplay. We also thank the excellent cast and crew of GHETTO DREAMZ who worked tirelessly despite the different production obstacles to deliver a world class movie that is now being celebrated in far away Los Angeles. Finally, we appreciate the members of the Press for being so gracious and supportive of the movie in their reviews.

This Award represents the 5th Award for Ghetto Dreamz since its premiere in April this year. The Movie had earlier won the CITY PEOPLE EXCELLENCE AWARD for Best Upcoming Actor (for TRYBSON DUDUKOKO’s role as Dagrin), Best Upcoming Actor also from NEWS OF THE PEOPLE AWARDS, 2011,  AND GLOBAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS, 2011. The lead actor of the movie, acting in his very first movie, was also recently nominated in the Best Emerging Actor category by BEST OF NOLLYWOOD (BON) AWARDS coming up in July.

We continue to expect bigger international exploits for this first biopic for a Nigerian musician as GHETTO DREAMZ begins to make its way through different international film festivals in the coming months. For those who may not have seen this great movie, we encourage you to go out and see it at the cinemas right now. The movie is about the life and struggles of the celebrated late indigenous rapper, Olaitan Olaonipekun, a/k/a Dagrin.

The movie, currently running at different Nigerian cinemas across the country is scheduled to premiere in 20 different Nigerian campuses over the next 30 days before moving to the United Kingdom for premieres in 4 cities including Birmingham (June 18th), Dublin (July 1st), Manchester (Just 8th) and London (July 16th).
