The Andrew Ukoko's 'THE ASSASSINS PRACTICE' Hits Cinemas across Nigeria on 22nd February 2013

The Movie, The Assasin’s Practice, will be released in cinemas across Nigeria on 22nd February 2013. The movie was Produced by Andrew Ukoko and Dele Ajakaiye, Directed by Andrew Ukoko.

The Assasin’s Practice, tells the story of failed stock investor, Eviano Esiri (Justus Esiri), who hires an assassin, to take his life, so that his family would live off his life insurance. He organises an impromptu holiday for his wife, and daughter, to protect them from witnessing the assassination. Two opportunist robbers turn up and will not leave or let anyone leave without getting money. However their reign of terror is brought to an end with the entrance of the psychotic assassin. As the hour ticks away, Eviano knows he must do everything to protect his family.

It stars Justus Esiri, Kate Henshaw, Eve Pearson, David Nnaji, Sarah Akokhia, Uche Monye, and Daphne Akatugba and many more.

The Asssassins Practice was shot in Nigeria and in the UK. It was premiered in London on May 11, 2012 and It was also screened on November 4, 2012, at the Film Africa - the largest annual festival of African cinema and culture in the United Kingdom.

Nollywood Screen Goddess Kate Henshaw appointed as the New Samsung Ambassador for West Africa.

Award Winning Nollywood diva, Kate Henshaw has been announced as the new Samsung Ambassador for West Africa.
The 41 year old Nollywood Actress will be replacing female music rapper and fashion designer, Sasha.
The official announcement has been made, papers have been signed and she has been officially unveiled today.
Kate will be will be working together with Banky W to raise awareness for Samsung mobile products and ultimately contribute to making Samsung phones the preferred brand in the West Africa.

BlackBerry 10 Home Screen Unveiled

RIM's Head of Software Portfolio, said the BB10 interface is built around fluid gestures and swipes, rather than lots of individual taps to get into and out of different apps and functions. It is also being specifically designed to allow BlackBerry owners to get to the stuff they want by using just one hand or a single thumb, he said.

First up, the BB10 homescreen -- it's out with app icons, and in with four large panes which are full, active apps meaning they will change as their content changes. To fully dive into one of these homescreen apps you just tap on the relevant pane.

From this homescreen, swiping to the right takes you to a traditional icon-centric view app view, while swiping to the left brings up a unified inbox view which collates all your communications -- from emails and IM to calls, tweets, Facebook updates etc -- into one uber feed.

Bhardwaj said key gestures, such as swiping to the left to get to this one-stop-shop inbox, aren't restricted to the homescreen but can be deployed wherever you are in the OS.

The most distinctive gesture in BB10 is what Bhardwaj described as "a looking type gesture" or "glancing across" to other content off screen.

This gesture is triggered by holding your thumb down at the bottom right hand corner of the screen which shrinks the view, bringing up a margin at the right hand side where notifications are displayed. Swiping or dragging your thumb further to left brings even more content on screen -- such as your inbox, an attachment or an open app.

On Saturday 25th January 2013 our favorite M-Net Soap Opera, Tinsel Couple Ene and Chuks made it official to become real life Couple after over 6 years of being together on TV.

Guess the duo bonded during those long hours on set and I bet the romantic plotlines didn't hurt either! :)

Who is Tope Brass? Her Journey so far..Her Career, Family and all.

Born Temitope Adediwura Ogunleye, Tope Brass as she is fondly come to be known by her showbiz pals and fans alike, is a Nigerian actress. She is an all round showbiz personality. She is a trained broadcaster, actress, blogger, former model, businesswoman and most recently produced her own movie. She is also a Registered Nurse in the UK. In August 2001 she married Alaba Odeyemi a politician and businessman. They have two kids.

Career

She began her career in 1990 at 13, when she made guest appearances on one of Nigeria’s best soaps- Ripples. She then went on to act in Fortunes, another Nigerian soap opera in 1993. She starred in one of the very first, best and most talked about movie that ever came out of Nollywood, Glamour girls 2, produced by Kenneth Nnebue and directed by Christian Onu in 1997, Deborah and the Dragon (1996), Haunted (1998), Gone too soon (1999)and Fast Cash 1 and 2. She has appeared in more than 20 films in a variety of genres, including Body of Vengeance (1996), Deadly Passion 1 1996) and Thorns of Roses (1997).

She has presented a number of music, sports and news programs on different television stations before she started work as a full time presenter for Minaj Broadcast International (MBI). She is a voiceover actor and was a Radio DJ at N-Power Radio in London. She has also walked some of the best catwalks in Africa and some parts of the world. Tope got the name “Brass” in 1999, after a near death experience on a fashion trip to Brass, an island in Bayelsa state and the name has stuck ever since.

Family and early life

Tope Brass was born in Lagos, Nigeria to the late Chief Anthony Ogunleye who hailed from Owo, Ondo State and ran a marble and granite company at Ilupeju Industrial Estate and Ibiwunmi Ogunleye, a business woman.

At the time Tope started acting, the creative acts was frowned upon by some well educated parents, who loved nothing better than for their kids to gain a degree in courses such as medicine and law. Tope attended Methodist Girls High School Lagos and went on to study for her OND and HND qualifications in Financial studies and accounting at the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State and then Lagos City Polytechnic, Lagos (one of the first private higher institutions in Nigeria). Tope majored in Presenting at the Federal Radio Corporation Of Nigeria Training School Ikeja/Oregun in 1999 and another from the Aylesbury Media Project, London. She was best friends with Ramsey Noah growing up, whom she introduced to the acting scene in Nigeria.

She also has a Bsc (Hons) in General Nursing from the University of Greenwich, London.
